The Hooligan says...

For starters, I blew up no hospital. It's good to know that if fellow team members think they hear something about me on the radio from Howard Freaking Fitzwater they believe it without question.

Secondly, I didn't blow up a factory. The "factory" in question was producing Flame, which is a GOOD thing to get off of the streets, and anyway, we don't know who blew it up. What I can tell you definitely is that it wasn't me.

One further thing you should all know - I will be responding in some manner to this raging jackass. If any of you are going to chastise me for not allowing him to spew hatred against me all over SoCal, do it silently or in writing, because I don't want to hear it. I've stopped arguing with the rest of you about what our goals are. I've conceded that our goal is to arrest criminals and let the courts do their job, and I've only struck out with lethal force when I felt my life was in direct danger. In exchange, I expect that I will be granted some leeway to deal with certain matters in my own way. Just because I don't share your exact moral code does not make me a bad person, and I'm beginning to resent to implication. Hell, I'm not beginning to resent it - I've resented it for quite some time.

Now, if someone has a constructive way to get back at this arsehole, I'm all ears. I don't want to write a letter. I don't want to boycott the Taco King just because it advertises on the station. I don't want to wait the guy out. Steps must be taken.

Yeah I do have a constructive way to get back at this jerk.

Lets start are own pro superhero radio show. Lets do interviews of people whose lives were made better by us costume super dupes. Lets show him that were not going to put up with his bashing in silence.

I'm willing to be the front man on this show. With my contacts in the entertainment industry I should be able to get us a slot on the radio.

It's a start anyway. What do you say?

Professor: Please let the economic pressure continue on him. Let me keep trying to get the money that is funding him to dry up a little. It might not help his message as much, but sooner or later it will show some benefit. I will see if I can get some info on how the process has been going to show you.

Just be careful of how you respond, because you know that any action that you take will be more fuel to his fire... Ignoring him is the best plan, I promise you.

As for the pro-hero radio show, I think it can't hurt completely, but I don't think that it will have the impact that you are looking for FFF. The reason that Fitzwater and his ilk continue to be employeed is because they stir up controversy and cause arguments. That brings ratings.

A pro-positional show might not cause the controversy that would be a big draw. It might, in which case there are good arguments for this, but you have to have more than the pro-position in this argument. Keep thinking.

I will need some of your help with contacts on researching what the boycott/letter writing campaign has been able to accomplish FFF. Lets do a little research, eh?

I see this as being more of an outreach kind of show to costume vigilantes. Sort of a help line for those young mutants who may have just come into their powers. A place they can call to get advice on how to deal with their new found gifts. Throw in some pro-mutant propaganda & some stories of costumes making positive impacts on peoples lives. Interviews of people saved from harm. It's can be so much more then just a pro super hero stance.

I'm all for helping out with the research. Hopefully our efforts to squash his funding have paid off a little. It may be a matter of finding who is funding this little operation & taking them apart. I have a feeling there is someone behind this that really wants to see mutants & other hero types go away. I think we need to take this apart from more then one angle. If I get a good hook for my show that draws in listeners perhaps these folks behind the scenes will start comming after me. Then we can figure out who may be behind this. My guess is that it's an enemy we already have.

Sorry, Hooligan, I just read the excerpts in the L.A. Times. Allow me to quote the entire excerpt.

The Hooligan? Yeah, that's right, he's ... the worst thing that ... we pay good tax money for ...

Now have you heard what he's been doing? ... He blew up ... the hospital ... (on the taxpayers dime...) ...

I ... believe ... neo-nazis ... on the board of supervisors ... have insurance ... to ... undo ...mutants ...

I'm ... all ... bad, ... don't ... trust ..., ... I ... leash ... you ...

Let's go to the phones.

Flea, I want to see that article. If what your saying is true, we have a bigger problem then Fitzwater. We may have a problem with a whole newspaper. At any rate it's time to put the pressure on.
Is someone going to blow up a hospital?

Personally, I love the L.A. Times. Its balanced news coverage gives me reassurance in this age of conservative-dominated media.
